The Last Prisoner Project is a “national, nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to cannabis criminal justice reform” and recently, the organization went into collaboration with rolling paper brand VIBES to raise awareness and advocate on behalf of individuals imprisoned for marijuana-related convictions.
Powerfully dubbed ‘RELEASE PAPERS,’ the rolling papers present a means to transform the act of rolling cannabis into an opportunity for education and activism. Each paper features the name of an incarcerated individual and a QR code that directs supporters to a website where they can sign petitions and participate in letter-writing campaigns urging for the release of federal cannabis prisoners. The names, offenses, and sentences of four incarcerated individuals are spotlighted as part of this collaboration. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from RELEASE PAPERS will go toward supporting the efforts of the Last Prisoner Project.
