The Portola is a folding ebike from Ride1Up, a San Diego-based company that specializes in value-priced electric bikes. The Portola features a low-step frame that makes it easy to get on and off, and a removable battery that can be charged on or off the bike. The bike also comes with a built-in rear rack, fenders, and front and rear LED lights, making it ideal for urban commuting. The Portola has three color choices: Onyx Black, Sea Turquoise, and Indigo Matte.
The Portola is powered by a 750W continuous-rated rear hub motor that can reach speeds up to 28 mph (45 km/h) when unlocked via the bike’s display. The bike has an 8-speed Shimano drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes for smooth riding and stopping. The bike also has a front suspension fork with 80 mm of travel and 20″x3.0″ tires that can handle light trails. The Portola comes with two battery options: a 48V 10.4Ah battery with 500 Wh of capacity for $995, which is currently on sale for $895, or a 48V 13.4Ah battery with 643 Wh of capacity for $1,095, currently discounted to $995.
