Xbox’s newest custom controller design celebrates Pride Month with a rainbow-colored design honoring the LGBTQIA+ flag. The controller uses a plastic top case with multiple LGBTQIA+ flags that represent different identities in the community. Xbox has also vowed to donate $170,000 to LGBTQIA+ nonprofits, and Microsoft Rewards members can earn digital points that will allow them to donate to these organizations.
Pride Month celebrations at Xbox will also see organizations like Mermaids, OutRight Action International, and National Center for Transgender Equality spotlighted on the Xbox website. The Xbox Pride controller will be available to order on the Xbox Design Lab website “in a fine, interwoven manner to celebrate the nuance, complexity, intersectionality, and strength of the many LGBTQIA+ communities.”
