The 1 Billion Meals Endowment campaign is a humanitarian initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to establish the largest Ramadan sustainable food aid endowment fund. The campaign aims to provide one billion meals to people in need across 30 countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Emirates Islamic and Emirates NBD, part of Emirates ND Group, announced a donation of Dh6.5 million towards the campaign, which will help feed more than 6.5 million people.
One benefit of the campaign is to reduce hunger and malnutrition among millions of people who are in need. Another benefit is to foster the spirit of unity, kindness, and generosity in the UAE society and beyond, as the campaign encourages individuals, companies, and institutions to join the noble cause. A third benefit is to boost the image and social responsibility of Emirates Islamic and Emirates NBD, as they show their dedication to supporting humanitarian work and sustainable development.
